Victoria Reyes bio

Victoria Reyes

Singer, semi-professional oboe botherer and classically trained pianist Victoria has now officially joined The Honey Pot. Victoria has previously performed several times with the band – including battling ‘altitude sickness’ on the recent trip to Switzerland in order to play at CERN – and we’re delighted that she’s decided to bring her vocal, keyboard and woodwind talents to the band.

Victoria’s ability to walk the line between the refined altitude of classical respectability and the less straight-laced world of the rock music scene was demonstrated at a young age when she toured Scandinavia as the Principal Oboeist of the County Youth Orchestra, although her rock and roll behaviour unfortunately resulted in an instant grounding from her parents when she returned to the UK. This individual approach to music was also seen while completing a Music degree with Victoria studying some obscure fields including Inuit throat singing. During her time studying and working in London Victoria performed with Andrea Bocelli, both at a Royal Variety performance and at Elizabeth Taylor’s birthday celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall, where a carefully plastic wrapped and germ shielded Michael Jackson joined them to perform on stage. Victoria took a ‘f***ing scary’ vocal solo during Ennio Morricone’s 75th birthday concert, again at The Royal Albert Hall, and also sang with Annie Lennox at the Greenwich Millennium celebrations.

In 2014 Victoria was led astray from her classical comfort zone back to the darker side of rock and roll when she joined The Cary Grace Band, appearing at a number of festivals and contributing some beautiful keyboard and vocals to the recent ‘Lady of Turquoise’ album. It was whilst performing with The Cary Grace Band that Victoria met The Honey Pot at a gig in Trowbridge, UK… and the rest, as they say, will be history….
